The Cablescan engineering team have the capability to produce drawings from customer specifications. Reverse engineering a sample harness, where little or no information is available. We can carry out on-site visits and have the experience and knowledge to suggest proven material to satisfy customer’s requirements.
We have built up an extensive database which cross references manufactures of equivalent products so as to minimise single source materials. The correct selection of material and supplier can enable significant cost reduction.
We can co-locate Engineering rescourse within customers project teams to reduce the risk of outsourcing the manufacture. We have experience of working within IPT’s and contributing from the concept design stage and design to cost, through to site visits to define routing to ensure that products are manufactured to enable an efficient installation method.
Change on electrical projects is inevitable, our proactive team have been involved in volatile first of type situations and fully understand the need to manage change effectively to minimise the cost impact and disruption to programmes.
We have developed relationships with a number of Connector, Backshell, Heatshrink products and cable manufacturers to develop a bespoke product if required.
Cablescan produce drawings using the Tyco Harnware and visio software. These can be produced using customer drawing formats if required.
A great deal of time is invested in the quality and level of information contained within the drawing and engineering to ensure the best practice manufacturing techniques and lessons learnt are captured.
As a minimum each drawing controls the following information:
- Parts List
- Physical layout with dimensions
- Wiring schematic
- Appropriate specifications
